Volunteer should understand and follow all safety instructions for their projects and not complete a project outside of their skills and training. At the YMCA of Greater Hartford, we take safety and social responsibility very seriously. We expect our staff to honor our operational values and speak up when noticing safety concerns. Volunteers should always use personal protective equipment when working from heights or when working with chemicals like cleaning supplies. In case of emergencies, volunteers should defer to staff procedures. Most importantly, volunteers are expected to follow Child Sexual Abuse Prevention practices to ensure the safety of children in our care at all times.
